| Locomotives built by Andrew Barclay, Kilmarnock. Locomotive construction commenced in the 1870's and progressed through the 20th Century, Barclays bought North British in 1963 and after several takeovers are now part of Brush Traction, trading as Brush-Barclay. |

Hawthorn Leslie, Robert Stephenson and Hawthorns locomotives

| R and W Hawthorn started Loco building in 1850, amalgamating with A. Leslie and Company in 1880, becoming Hawthorn Leslie and Company, in 1937 they merged with Robert Stephenson and Company becoming RSH, in 1944 RSH became part of the English Electric Company. |

Peckett & Son

| The company originated as Fox, Walker & Company in 1864, FW was taken over by Thomas Peckett in 1880 and commenced manufacture of a long line of small locomotives, final steam loco was produced in 1958, Pecketts were taken over by Reed, Crane & Hoist which went into liquidation in 1961. |
